Öz

Time is one of the unique sources that is equally granted to people. If a person or an institution does the job better and faster than others, they take advantage of competition. There are private and public organizations in society. They are similar to each other as for their management functions although there is difference in ownership. This study examines the time management behaviour of managers who work in the private sector SME enterprises and public sector. Our investigation has shown that that the time management skills of private or public sector managers are poor and should be improved, and it has also been observed that when managers are promoted and their education levels go up, they are more interested in the time management. The study has also found out that the managers in the private sector are more careful about time than the managers in the public sector. Finally, the study has also illuminated that whether it is individual or institution, time should be given utmost imporantce by managers if they wish to be active and efficient in their jobs. They should know that the resources, which they will allocate, will come back to them as gain in their performance.

ÖZEL SEKTÖR VE KAMU YÖNETİCİLERİNİN ZAMAN YÖNETİMİ DAVRANIŞLARININ KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

Öz

Zaman, her insana eşit olarak sunulmuş yegâne kaynaklardan biri. Bir kişi yada kurum, kendine verilmiş iş, görevi, diğer kişi ve kurumlardan daha kısa zamanda ve daha iyi yapıyorsa rekabet avantajı kazanıyor demektir. Toplumumuzdaki örgütlerin kimisi özel kimisi de kamu kuruluşu. Sahiplik açısından farklılık olmasına rağmen yöneticilik fonksiyonu açısından benzerlik var. Bu çalışmada, özel sektör KOBİ işletmeleri ve kamu kuruluşlarında görev yapan yöneticilerin zaman yönetimi davranışları incelenmiştir. Araştırmamızda; özel yada kamu sektöründeki yöneticilerin zaman yönetimi becerilerinin yetersiz olduğu, geliştirilmesi gerektiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Yöneticiler eğitim seviyeleri ve kıdemleri arttıkça zaman yönetimine daha duyarlı davranmaktadırlar. Çalışmamızda özel sektör KOBİ yöneticilerinin kamu sektörü yöneticilerine karşın zaman yönetimine daha duyarlı oldukları görülmüştür.
