Transformational Leadership and Knowledge Management: A Qualitative Research on ICT Firms

Öz

This paper aims to determine the effects of transformational leadership, which is a leadership style, on the knowledge management process and transformational leadership dimensions are related to knowledge management process. The study was conducted in ICT firms in Ankara. An interview was conducted with the leading managers determined by the purposive sample and conforming to findings, it was found that the dimension of idealized influence is related to knowledge creation, storage and usage, the dimension of intellectual stimulation is associated with the knowledge creation, inspirational motivation is linked with the knowledge creation and sharing as well as the dimension of individual consideration is related to knowledge creation, storage and application. However, transformational leadership and knowledge management are closely linked with the ICT firms.

Dönüşümcü Liderlik ve Bilgi Yönetimi: Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojileri Firmaları Üzerine Nitel Bir Araştırma

Öz

Bu çalışma, dönüşümcü liderliğin, bilgi yönetimi sürecine olan etkilerini ve dönüşümcü liderlik stilinin boyutlarından hangilerinin bilgi yönetimi süreciyle ilişkili olduğunu saptamayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma, Ankara’daki bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri şirketlerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Amaçlı örneklem ile belirlenen lider yöneticilerle mülakat yapılmış ve elde edilen bulgulara göre dönüşümcü liderliğin idealleştirilmiş etki boyutu; bilgi yönetimi süreci aşamalarından bilginin yaratılması, depolanması ve uygulanmasıyla ilişkili olduğu, entelektüel uyarım boyutunun bilginin yaratılması ile ilişkili olduğu, ilham verici motivasyonun ise bilginin yaratılması ve paylaşılması ile ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür. Bunun yanında bireysek destek boyutunun bilgi yönetimi aşamalarından bilginin yaratılması, saklanması ve uygulanmasıyla ilişkili olduğu sonucuna varılmış ve dönüşümcü liderliğin ve bilgi yönetimi aşamalarının bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri firmalarıyla yakından ilişkisi olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.
