YÖNETSEL GÜÇLÜLÜK VE ETKİLİLİK: KAVRAMSAL BİR ÇALIŞMA

Öz

Organizasyonların çevreye uyum sağlamaları, gerek durağan
gerekse karmaşık ve değişken çevre şartlarına uygun yönetsel tepkiler
vermelerine bağlıdır. Etkili yönetim için hem yönetsel beceriler hem de yönetsel
yetenekler gerekli olduğundan, ikisi arasında ayrım yapmak önem arz
etmektedir. Yönetsel beceriler rutin ve programlanmış işler için gerekliyken,
yönetsel yetenekler rutin olmayan ve programlanmamış işler içindir. Yönetsel
işlerin en önemli unsurları, yetenek kullanımını gerektiren rutin olmayan ve
programlanmamış işlerle ilgilidir. Yönetsel işler için gerekli olan yeteneklere
sahip olma, yönetsel güçlülük olarak kavramsallaştırılmaktadır (Kanungo ve
Misra, 1992). Yönetsel güçlülük, yönetsel işlerin gerektirdiği uygun tepkiyi
kolaylaştıran belirli duygusal, zihinsel ve davranışsal yetenekler setidir.
Yetenekler, başarılı bir yöneticinin repertuvarının temel ve önemli
bileşenleridir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, yönetsel güçlülük kavramına ve bu
kavramın organizasyonlar için önemine dikkat çekmektir.
