TÜRKİYE'DE DOĞRUDAN YABANCI YATIRIMLAR VE EKONOMİK BÜYÜMEYE ETKİSİ (1980-2008)

Öz

Gelişmekte olan ülkelerin karşılaştığı önemli sorunlardan birisi
tasarruf yetersizliğidir. Bu sorun, ülkeleri dış kaynaklardan ve doğrudan yabancı
yatırımlardan yararlanma yoluna yönlendirmektedir. Dolayısıyla hem gelişmiş
hem de gelişmekte olan ülkeler doğrudan yabancı yatırımları kendi ülkelerine
çekebilmek için yoğun çaba sarf etmektedirler. Bunun sebebi ise doğrudan
yabancı yatırımların sağladığı sermaye, yeni teknoloji ve istihdam artışından
yararlanma isteğidir. Bu çalışmada, doğrudan yabancı yatırımların ekonomik
büyüme üzerindeki etkileri Türkiye ekonomisi 1980-2008 dönemi için
ekonometrik yöntemler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizlerde, gayri safı
yurtiçi hasıla ve doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar olmak üzere iki değişken yer
almıştır. Değişkenlere ilişkin zaman serisi verileri ADF birim kök testi ile
sınanmış ve değişkenlerin 1. fark değerlerinde durağan oldukları gözlenmiştir.
Değişkenler arasında nedensellik ilişkisini belirleyebilmek için Granger
nedensellik testi uygulanmış ve doğrudan yabancı yatırımlardan ekonomik
büyümeye doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmuştur. Ayrıca bu
değişkenlere uygulanan EG eşbütünleşme testi sonucunda, söz konusu
değişkenlerin eşbütünleşik oldukları sonucuna varılmıştır. Tahmin sonuçları,
doğrudan yabancı yatırımların ekonomik büyüme üzerinde pozitif etkiler
yarattığını ortaya koymuştur.
