The aim of this study is to investigate the
learning styles and the satisfaction levels of the distance education students
and to analyze the relation between the learning styles and the satisfaction
levels. Survey method that is one of the quantitative research methods was used
in the present study. The participants of the study included 155 students
enrolled online bachelor completion degree programs at Ataturk University
Distance Education Application and Research Centre. “Kolb Learning Style
Inventory Test III” was used in order to examine the learning styles of the
distance education students and “Internet-Based Distance Education Student
Satisfaction Scale” was used to examine the satisfaction levels of the distance
education students. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used in the
data analysis. According to the results of this study, the majority of
participants have diverging learning style. The students’ overall level of
satisfaction with the programs about the interactions, the structure of the
program and process of it, and the general problems was moderate. These
satisfaction levels differ according to the programs in terms of the
satisfaction with the structure and the process of the program, and the
satisfaction with the interactions. And it was revealed that, the satisfaction
levels of the distance education students with the program that they study do
not differentiate according to their learning styles.
