New Exotic Pufferfish Species; Oceanic Pufferfish Lagocephalus lagocephalus (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Gulf of Antalya

Up to now, six species
of the Tetradontidae family have been reported in the Gulf of Antalya. These
species are Lagocephalus
spadiceus, Lagocephalus suezensis, Lagocephalus sceleratus, Torquigener
flavimaculosus, Sphoeroides pachygaster, Tylerius spinosissimus. Apart from these
species, on 09.01.2018 a different kind of pufferfish was caught by a bottom
long line at a depth of 160 m on the Gazipaşa coast of Gulf of Antalya and this
fish was identified as oceanic puffer fish Lagocephalus
lagocephalus (Linnaeus, 1758).

Antalya Körfezi’nde şimdiye kadar L. spadiceus, L. suezensis, L. sceleratus,
Torquigener flavimaculosus, Sphoeroides pachygaster, Tylerius spinosissimus
olmak üzere 6 tür balon balığı tespit edilmiştir. Gazipaşa’da 09.01.2018
tarihinde yapılan dip paraketası avcılığı sırasında farklı bir tür balon balığı
türü daha yakalanmıştır. Yeni yakalanan bu balığın tür teşhisinde, Okyanus
Balon Balığı olarak bilinen Lagocephalus
lagocephalus (Linnaeus, 1758) olduğu belirlenmiştir.
