The main goal of the journal is to bring together scholars from different schools of thought from around the world on a common platform to advance the quality research on the history and philosophy of science.

The journal includes studies that examine the formation, development and impact processes of issues in the history and philosophy of science - both in terms of the various branches of science, the philosophical perspectives underlying these fields, and their historical phases - in the context of both technical and interdisciplinary methods.

- Research articles should be a minimum of 2,500 and a maximum of 8,000 words. Otherwise, the editor should be specifically informed.
- Research notes, book reviews and article reviews are expected to be no more than 3,000 words (excluding notes).
- Manuscripts submitted to the journal should be written in MS Word processor with normal margins, 10-point Times New Roman font, 1.5 line spacing and left aligned.
- Tables, figures and charts should be of a size appropriate to the page of the journal. If necessary, they can be written in smaller font size and single-spaced.
- Images and photographs should have a resolution of 300 DPI.
- Tables and charts should be numbered sequentially according to their appearance in the manuscript. Footnotes to the tables should be placed just below the body of the table and should be indicated with lower case descriptive letters. Vertical rulers should be avoided. As few tables as possible should be used and care should be taken to ensure that the data presented in the tables are not identical to results already presented elsewhere in the article.
The manuscripts submitted for publication should include the following sections:
A 150-200 word abstract with Turkish title and 5-8 keywords.
An abstract of 150-200 words including English title and 5-8 keywords.
Turkish and English abstracts will not be included in research notes and book reviews.
Information about the author and acknowledgments should be indicated as follows:
The first footnote with an asterisk should contain the following information: Author's title, first and last name, affiliated institution, e-mail address and ORCID ID number.
If the author wishes to include acknowledgments, these should be stated in the footnote preceded by the author's name.
Footnotes and the format of the bibliography should be organized according to the following principles:
The format used by the International Journal for History and Philosophy of Science for referencing is the ISNAD Citation System (2nd Edition). Both in citations and bibliography, authors should follow the spelling rules and format specified in the ISNAD Citation System (online: https://www.isnadsistemi.org/guide/isnad2/ ) and should follow the format and spelling rules specified in the ISNAD Citation System.
At a minimum, authors should provide the full link address of the internet link references used and the time of the last access to that link. If known, information such as author names, dates, and publication references should also be provided. Internet link references may be listed separately (e.g. immediately after the reference list) or added to the reference list.
For the Turkish spelling of Arabic expressions, the spelling principles adopted by the TDV Islamic Encyclopedia are applied.
Authors must ensure that the following criteria are met prior to submission:
- The full name(s) and title(s) of the author(s) should appear on the first page.
- If the manuscript is written by two or more authors, one of the authors should be designated as the corresponding author. The first page should include the name, mailing address, work/mobile phone number(s) and e-mail address(es) of the corresponding author.
- An abstract of 150-200 words written in Turkish, 5-8 keywords and a title,
- An abstract of 150-200 words written in English, 5-8 keywords,
- All visual elements should be in a separate file, in appropriate formats (jpg, pdf or png), in printable resolution (300-600 dpi) and of uniform size.
- All tables (including titles, definitions and footnotes) must be complete.
- The manuscript must be word and grammar checked.
- References must be in the correct format (ISNAD Citation System (2nd Edition)).
- All references in the text must be listed in the bibliography.
- Permission to use proprietary materials (including web pages) must be obtained from other sources.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

• The author cannot have his/her article in the submission process of more than one journal at the same time. Each application can be started after the completion of the previous application.

• The author must guarantee that the work is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language.


• Articles submitted for publication must not violate scientific publication ethics (such as plagiarism, forgery, distortion, republication, unfair authorship, not specifying the supporting organization).

• In case of direct quotation from other works during the research process of the article, the author must be cited.

• For special collection/archive resources that require copyright/permission (visual materials, maps, etc.), the data must have usage rights and necessary permissions.

• The bibliography list must be complete and the sources cited must be indicated.,

• In order for the findings of the study to be verified by others, the methods and sources should be clearly and precisely defined.

• Multiple publications resulting from a single research project should be clearly identified and the primary publication should be cited.

Ethical Responsibilities for Referees

• Reviews should be impartial and reviewers should not have any conflict of interest with the study/authors.

• Reviewers must be experts in the subject they are reviewing, and if they do not have sufficient knowledge, they should decline the offer of reviewing.

• In accordance with the principle of confidentiality, reviewers should never share the studies they review with third parties and should destroy them after the evaluation process.

• Reviewers should only evaluate the content of the study. They should not allow nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial concerns to influence the evaluation.

• As part of their responsibilities as educators and trainers, reviewers should guide the authors and avoid offensive and insulting comments and statements about the inadequacies of the author(s).

• They should carry out the work they accept for evaluation in a timely manner and within the framework of the above ethical responsibilities.

Ethical Responsibilities for Editors

• The editors are responsible for ensuring the quality of the material they publish and protecting the integrity of the published record.

• Editors take care to act in accordance with the principle of freedom of thought in order to ensure fair and impartial evaluation of the work.

• Editors conduct their work processes in accordance with intellectual property rights and ethical standards.

• Editors protect the confidentiality of authors and reviewers and manage the review process accordingly. Identity information is kept confidential as the review process is carried out with the double-blind method. The referee list for each issue is announced in the relevant issue.

• Editors take care to ensure that all manuscripts are reviewed by appropriately qualified referees.

• Detailed information on the process for authors is provided in the Instructions for Authors.

• During the appointment of referees, the editors are aware of any conflicts of interest between the authors and the referees.

• Reviewers are encouraged to use impartial, scientific and objective language when evaluating the manuscript.

• Unkind and unscientific reviews are blocked or censored.

• Editors are responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all published articles and defending the rights of the journal and the author(s) in case of possible violations.

• The editors take into account criticism of the works published in the journal and strive to adopt a constructive attitude towards these criticisms. Publishes criticism and discussion articles about the articles.
• According to the recommendations of the referees, the Editorial Board follows one of the following paths:

- It may publish the work. It may accept the work with partial and significant changes and improvements for publication.

- It may ask the author(s) to edit the manuscript in accordance with the referees' opinions and initiate a new evaluation process.

- Reject the study.
