Current Perspectives on Health Sciences Research is a publication of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.

The purpose of the journal is to publish original articles, review articles, case reports, letters to the editor, short communications and commentaries on all aspects of health sciences.

Our journal covers scientific studies in all areas related to health sciences such as nursing, nutrition and dietetics, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, midwifery, audiology child development, emergency aid and disaster management, gerontology, health management, medicine, veterinary, dentistry, sports.

Articles submitted for publication in this journal should be arranged according to the Current Perspectives on Health Sciences Writing Rules prepared on the basis of the "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals http://www.icmje.org/icmje-recommendations.pdf" guide.

Accordingly, the authors should prepare articles in accordance with

Cover Letter:
The cover letter should include a description of whether the article has been published in any language, including the abstract, and whether the article is being evaluated elsewhere for publication.

Title page:
A separate title page should be submitted with all submissions and this page should include:

The full title of the manuscript as well as a short title of no more than 50 characters,

Name(s), affiliations, and academic degree(s) of the author(s),

Grant information and detailed information on the other sources of support,

Name, address, telephone (including the mobile phone number), and email address of the corresponding author,

Acknowledgment of the individuals who contributed to the preparation of the manuscript but who do not fulfill the authorship criteria.


Text Rules

1. Manuscripts should be written in A4 paper size (210 x 297 mm), 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm space on page edges, in one column and justified.

2. “Times New Roman” font should be used for texts, symbols and other special characters.

3. “Times New Roman” font and 12 font size should be used for texts, symbols and other special characters.

4. Individuals and Methods / Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion sections should be written with related subtitles. Subheadings should be used up to the third degree. Main titles should be written in bold and left aligned with capital letters, second title should be written in bold and left aligned with the first letter in capital, and third headings should be written in bold with the first letter in capital, and then the text should be continued by putting a colon.

5. TAB key should not be used for paragraph separation.

Descriptions of the abbreviations should be given where they were first used, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. International Units System (SI) abbreviations (http://jn.nutrition.org/content/120/1/20.full.pdf) can be used for measurement units to be used in clinical and laboratory studies.

Up to 15 pages (excluding title page, abstracts, references, tables and figure descriptions) for research articles and reviews, up to 8 pages (including title page, titles, abstracts, references, tables and figure descriptions) and letters to the editor It should be prepared with a maximum of 2 pages (including resources).

References should belong to recent years, the number of sources should be maximum 40 sources for research articles and 50 articles for reviews, maximum 20 sources for case reports and 10 sources for letters to the editor.

Number of tables should be maximum 6 and number of figures should be maximum 6.

All articles should be carefully checked in terms of English grammar and spelling rules.

The English abstract should be carefully checked in terms of grammar and spelling.

The final version of the article should be carefully checked by all authors, especially for spelling and formatting errors.

For communication, the author's mobile phone, e-mail address, detailed correspondence address and the institutions where all authors work should be written clearly.


Structured Abstract
1. After the title page, Turkish and English abstracts should be written on separate pages. Turkish and English abstracts should contain minimum 100 words and maximum 300 words.

2. In abstracts, as few abbreviations as possible should be used, non-standard or rare abbreviations should be avoided and not cited.

3. Turkish and English abstracts should reflect the entire article and should be compatible with each other in terms of content and language.

4. At the bottom of the summary page, minimum 3 and maximum 5 keywords should be entered.

5. Turkish Science Terms list (https://www.bilimterimleri.com/) for Turkish keywords, American National Library of Medicine (NLM / https://www.nlm.nih.gov/) for English keywords The list of Medical Subject Headings (Medical Subject Headings, MeSH / https://meshb.nlm.nih.gov/) should be used.


Tables and Figures

1. Table and figure numbers should be written in bold color and table and figure names should be written in normal color. (Example: Table 1. Distribution of individuals)

2. Table names should be written above the table and figure names should be written below the figure.

3. As table borders, there should be only top and bottom borders and inner border lines where section separations are made. (See the Article Template on the Submit Article page.)

4. Abbreviations and statistical analyzes in the table should be written clearly at the bottom of the table.

5. Figures should be saved in JPEG format as 600*600 dpi and sent over the system separately.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal for evaluation should not have been published in an electronic or printed medium. Manuscripts that have been presented in a meeting (symposium, congress, panel, seminar etc.) should be submitted with detailed information on the organization, including the name, date, and location of the organization. In researches conducted on humans or animals, a copy of the Interventional or Non-Interventional Ethics Committee/Commission's approval must be sent to the journal. In studies supported by research projects (BAP, BAKA, European Union, TUBITAK, etc.), the project name, number and supporting institution/organization should be specified in the text.

All research protocols with humans must conform to the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki (Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects, acces: https://www.wma.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/DoH-Oct2013-JAMA.pdf) amended in October 2013. For researches on experimental research on humans, a statement should be added stating that patients and volunteers have signed a written informed consent form containing a detailed description of the procedures.

In experimental animal studies, the authors should indicate that the procedures followed were in accordance with animal rights as per the “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals http://oacu.od.nih.gov/regs/guide/guide.pdf.” In animal studies, it is obligatory to obtain permission from the "Animal Experiments Local Ethics Committee" and send a copy of the relevant document to the journal.


All applications are scanned via similarity detection software (iThenticate by CrossCheck). The similarity rate of the article should be below 20%.

In case of alleged or suspected research misuse, such as plagiarism, attribution manipulation, and data falsification / fabrication, the Editorial Board acts in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Membership, processing, submission or printing fees are not charged for articles submitted to the journal or accepted for publication.
