Yeme bozukluklarına genel bir bakış

Abstract

Yeme bozuklukları insanlığın varoluşu ile beraber görülmeye başlayan ve o zamandan günümüze kadar süregelen fizyolojik, psikolojik ve sosyal işlevi etkileyen çok ciddi durumlardır. Yeme bozukluklarının tanımları ve tanı kriterleri Amerikan Psikiyatri Derneği’nin yayınladığı Zihin Hastalıklarının Tanısal ve İstatistiksel El Kitabı’nda (DSM) belirtilmiştir. Kitabın ilk baskısında yeme bozuklukları başlığı altında tanımlanan iki adet yeme bozukluğu vardır: anoreksiya nervoza ve bulimia nervoza. Yeme bozuklukları üzerine çalışmalar 20. yüzyıldan itibaren ağırlık kazandığı için sınıflandırılmaları ve tanı kriterlerinin geliştirilmesi için çalışmalar devam etmektedir. DSM-5’ göre yeme bozuklukları 8 alt kategoride incelenmektedir. Bunlar: anoreksiya nervoza, bulimia nervoza, tıkınırcasına yeme bozukluğu, kaçıngan/kısıtlayıcı gıda alım bozukluğu, pika sendromu, ruminasyon bozukluğu, tanımlanmış diğer beslenme veya yeme bozuklukları, tanımlanmamış diğer beslenme veya yeme bozukluklarıdır.

An overview of eating disorders

Abstract

Eating disorders are very serious conditions that began to appear with the existence of humanity and affect physiological, psychological and social functions that have continued since then. Definitions and diagnostic criteria of eating disorders are stated in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) published by the American Psychiatric Association. There are two eating disorders defined under the heading of eating disorders in the first edition of the book: anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Since studies on eating disorders have gained importance since the 20th century, studies continue to classify them and develop diagnostic criteria. According to DSM-5, eating disorders are examined in 8 subcategories. These are: anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, pica syndrome, rumination disorder, other specified feeding or eating disorders, other unspecified feeding or eating disorders.
