Türkiye’de Kullanılmakta Olan Palinoloji ve Polen Terimleri Üzerine Bir Değerlendirme ve Öneriler

Abstract

Ülkemizde polenle ilgili çalışmalar 1960’lı yılların sonlarında başlamış ve günümüze kadar artarak devam etmiştir. Bu çalışmalar incelendiğinde kullanılan polen terminolojisiyle ilgili pek çok farklılıklar olduğu görülmüştür. Bazı terim isimleri Latince bazıları İngilizce kullanılmış, terimlere Türkçe isimler verilmemiştir. Bu amaçla polen bilimi ve polen morfolojisine ilişkin 54 terim seçilmiş, bu terimlerin Türkçe karşılıklarına ilişkin öneriler sunularak şekillerle açıklanmıştır. Bu kapsamda yapılan değerlendirmelerle, diad, tetrad, spheroidal, prolate, oblate gibi terimlerin oldukça yalın ve tam olarak Türkçe karşılıkları verilebilmiştir. Buna karşın bazı terimlerin Türkçe karşılıklarının tartışılmasının gerekli olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Dış taraf (distal), polen yüzeyi olmayan (intectate) gibi terimlerde önerilen Türkçe karşılığın tartışılmasının yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışma ile bir adım atılmış olup yeni çalışma ve değerlendirmelerle ülkemizdeki Palinoloji bilim alanı ve polen morfolojisi ile ilgili terimlerin karşılıkları yerleşmiş olacaktır.
