Lyon Kenti’nin Avrupa Akıllı Turizm Başkenti Parametreleri Üzerinden Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Son yirmi yılda izlenen teknolojik gelişme ve dijitalleşme, turizm dahil olmak üzere bir çok sektörde akıllı üretim sistemlerini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bulut bilişimi, artırılmış gerçeklik, nesnelerin interneti, blok zincir, yapay zeka, robotik ve bu gibi teknolojik gelişmeler turizm sektöründe akıllı destinasyonlar olarak kendini göstermektedir. Avrupa Birliği, turizm sektöründeki başarılı uygulamaları yaygınlaştırmak üzere 2019 yılında “Avrupa Akıllı Turizm Başkentleri” yarışmasını başlatmıştır. Her yıl erişilebilir, sürdürülebilir ve dijital turizm hizmetleri sunan ve ayrıca kültürel miras ile yenilikçiliği birleştiren destinasyonlardan iki tanesi seçilerek Avrupa Akıllı Turizm Başkenti olarak ilan edilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Lyon kentindeki özgün akıllı turizm uygulamalarını ön plana çıkararak, yükselen destinasyonlar için eşsiz bir öğrenme fırsatı sağlamaktır. Nitel araştırma yöntemleri arasında sıralanan durum çalışması formatına uygun olarak hazırlanan bu çalışma, Helsinki ve Malaga üzerine yazılan iki ayrı çalışmanın devamı olarak kaleme alınmıştır. Çalışmada Fransa’nın turizm yönetişimi ve turizm göstergeleri açıklandıktan sonra, Lyon kentinin sunduğu akıllı turizm uygulamaları Avrupa Akıllı Turizm Başkentleri yarışması parametreleri çerçevesinde değerlendirilmektedir. Araştırma bulgularından hareketle, diğer destinasyonlara yönelik politika önerileriyle son bulmaktadır.

Assessment of the City of Lyon in View of European Capital of Smart Tourism Parameters

Abstract

Over the last two decades, technological development and digitalisation have brought about smart production systems in most of the sectors including tourism. Technological developments, such as the cloud computing, augmented reality, internet of things, blockchain, artificial intelligence, robotics, etc., manifest themselves as smart destinations in tourism sector. The European Union introduced the “European Capital of Smart Tourism” contest with the aim of dissimenating the best practices in all member countries as of 2019. Every year, two of the destinations which provide accessible, sustainable, digital tourism services, and intermingle cultural heritage and innovation, are selected and declared as the European Capital of Smart Tourism. The aim of this paper is to provide a peerless learning opportunity for the emerging tourism destinations, by foregrounding the unique smart tourism aspects observed in the city of Lyon. In line with the case study format of qualitative research methods, this paper is compiled as the continuation of the two different papers written on Helsinki and Malaga, respectively. In this paper, after explaining the tourism governance in France and the tourism indicators, smart tourism applications offered by the city of Lyon are assessed in view of the European Capital of Smart Tourism parameters. Based on the findings of the research, the paper ends up with policy recommendations provided for other destinations.
