Türkiye’de Suç ve Sosyal Hizmet Alanındaki Araştırmalarda Paradigma Dönüşümü: Lisansüstü Tezlerin Sistematik İncelenmesi (1990-2023)

Abstract

Sosyal hizmet disiplini çeşitli boyutlarıyla suçluluk, suç, suça sürüklenen çocuk, madde bağımlılığı gibi konularda araştırmalar yürüterek adalet mekanizması içerisinde önemli bir konumda bulunmaktadır. Son zamanlarda suç ve suçluluk alanında yapılan çalışmalarda pozitivist bilim paradigmasının nedenselliğe yönelik hakim bakış açılarının eylemi anlama ve yorumlamaya doğru değişim gösterdiği, böylelikle bilimsel metodoloji olarak nitel ve karma yöntemlerin kullanımının yaygınlaştığı görülmüştür. Bu paradigma dönüşümünün anlaşılması amacıyla araştırmanın teorik kısmında suç ve sosyal hizmet araştırmalarının epistemolojik temelleri ve metodolojileri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, YÖK tez veri tabanı kullanılarak 1990-2023 yılları aralığında sosyal hizmet alanında suçla ilgili yazılan toplam 47 lisansüstü tez taranmıştır. Tezlerin 32’si yüksek lisans 15’i doktora tezidir. Sosyal Hizmet alanında suçla ilgili yazılan tezlerin 2016 yılından sonra artış gösterdiği, tezlerin çoğunluğunun nitel yöntemle yazıldığı, nitel yöntemin en çok çocuklarda suça sürüklenme konusunu ele alan tezlerde kullanıldığı görülmüştür. Nitel yöntemin kullanıldığı araştırmaların veri toplama araçları açısından sınırlı olduğu, en çok derinlemesine görüşme tekniği ile veri toplandığı belirlenmiştir. Yapılan tarama çalışmasıyla sosyal hizmette suç alanında yazılan tezlerdeki mevcut durumu ve gelecek çalışmalarda nelere ihtiyaç olduğu kanıta dayalı olarak ortaya konmuştur.

Paradigm Shift Among the Research on Crime and Social Work in Turkey: A Systematical Review of Postgraduate Theses (1990-2023)

Abstract

Social work discipline has an important position in the justice mechanism by conducting research on issues such as delinquency, crime, juvenile delinquency and substance abuse with its various dimensions. In recent studies in the field of crime and delinquency, it has been seen that the dominant perspectives of the positivist science paradigm on causality have changed towards understanding and interpreting action, thus the use of qualitative and mixed methods as scientific methodology has become widespread. In order to understand this paradigm shift, the methodologies and epistemological foundations of crime and social work research are examined in the theoretical part of the research. In addition, in this study, a total of 47 postgraduate theses written on crime in the field of social work between the years 1990-2023 were reviewed using the YÖK thesis database. 32 of the theses are master's and 15 of them are doctoral theses. It has been observed that the theses written on crime increased after 2016, the majority of theses were written with a qualitative method, and qualitative methods were mostly used in theses written on the subject of delinquency among children. It has been determined that the studies in which qualitative methods are used are limited in terms of data collection tools, and data is collected mostly with in-depth interview technique. With the screening study, the current situation in the theses written in the field of crime in social work and what is needed in future studies have been revealed based on evidence.
