Türkiye'deki Hemşirelik Lisans Programlarında Yer Alan Bilişim Derslerinin İncelenmesi: Tanımlayıcı Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'deki üniversitelerdeki hemşirelik lisans programları içindeki Bilişim derslerinin durumunun araştırması amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan çalışma Kasım-Aralık 2023 tarihinde internet ortamında yürütüldü. Evren, Türkiye'deki üniversitelere bağlı 177 hemşirelik bölümü, örneklem ise bilişim derslerini içeren 63 hemşirelik bölümü lisans programını kapsamaktadır. İnceleme, üniversitelerin web sitelerinde bulunan ders bilgi paketlerinin incelenmesini içeriyordu. Araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan form aracılığıyla toplanan veriler SPSS 22.00 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiş ve sonuçlar sayı ve yüzde olarak sunulmuştur. Bulgular: Türkiye’deki 177 lisans hemşirelik programının %65'i (n:115) devlet üniversitelerine bağlı, %81,9'u (n:145) Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi'nde bulunuyordu. İncelenen hemşirelik bölümlerinin (n:63) %35,6'sında dahil edilme kriterlerini karşılayan bir Bilişim dersi vardı. Dersin isimlendirilmesi değişiklik göstermekle birlikte %41,3’ünde (n:26) ders "Hemşirelik Bilişimi" olarak belirlenmiş ve %84,1 (n:53) ders seçmeli olarak açılmıştır. Sonuç: Bulgular, hemşirelik programlarında temel bilgisayar kullanım becerilerinin yaygın olarak ele alındığını ancak hemşirelik ve sağlık alanına yönelik bilişim derslerinin kayda değer bir varlığının bulunmadığı vurgulamaktadır. Sağlık hizmetlerinde bilgi teknolojilerinin artan yaygınlığı göz önüne alındığında, bu çalışma hemşirelik bölümlerine özel bilişim derslerinin dahil edilmesini savunmaktadır. Bu tür dersler, hemşirelik öğrencilerini (hemşirelerin gelecekteki iş gücü) lisans düzeyinde gelişen sağlık teknolojisi kullanımına hazırlamak için gerekli becerilerle donatmak açısından çok önemlidir.

Mapping the Landscape of Nursing Informatics Education: A Descriptive Study

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the status of Informatics courses within nursing undergraduate programs at universities in Türkiye. Methods: The descriptive study was conducted online in November-December 2023. The population consisted of 177 nursing departments affiliated to universities in Türkiye and the sample consisted of 63 nursing department undergraduate programs including informatics courses. The review included examining the course information packages available on the websites of the universities. The data collected through the form created by the researcher were analyzed using the SPSS 22.00 program and the results were presented as numbers and percentages. Results: Of the 177 undergraduate nursing programs in Türkiye, 65% (n:115) were affiliated with state universities and 81.9% (n:145) were located in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Of the nursing programs (n:63), 35.6% had an Informatics course that met the inclusion criteria. Although the nomenclature of the course varied, in 41.3% (n:26) the course was designated as "Nursing Informatics" and in 84.1% (n:53) the course was offered as an elective. Conclusions: The findings emphasize that basic computer usage skills are widely addressed in nursing programs, but there is no significant presence of informatics courses in the field of nursing and health. Given the increasing prevalence of information technologies in health care, this study advocates for the inclusion of specialized informatics courses in nursing departments. Such courses are crucial to equip nursing students (the future workforce of nurses) with the necessary skills to prepare them for the evolving use of health technology at the undergraduate level.
