In  the  last  years,  because  there  is  a  rapid  technological  development  all  over  the  world;  it  is  recommended   to   use   information   and   communication   technologies   in   the   instructional  environments.  But  the  studies  showed  that  there  are  some  problems  occurred  in  successful  integration  in  the  learning  environments.  One  of  the  pointed  reasons  of  these  problems  was  the  lack  of  practical  knowledge  about  how  to  integrate  these  technologies  into  the  lessons.  The  use  of  digital  storytelling  in  the  various  educational  levels  from  pre-‐school  to  university  is   useful   in   the   integration   of   multimedia   technologies   in   classroom   environment.   Digital  storytelling  oftenly  used  in  recent  years  in  educational  settings  was  emerged  as  an  approach  by  integrating  multimedia  technologies  with  traditional  storytelling.  In  this  study,  examining  the   international   literature   the   concept   of   digital   storytelling   is   discussed   and   the  investigations   are   presented   about   the   use   in   learning   environments.   Also   to   create  awareness   about   the   issue,   some   example   academic   studies   in   different   levels   are   listed  which   conducted   in   Turkey.   It   is   expected   that   this   study   would   provide   a   better  understanding   about   the   use   of   digital   storytelling   in   educational   environments.   It   is  considered  that  the  study  is  important  due  to  examine  the  concept  of  digital  storytelling  in  details,   in   which   the   technology   integration   is   supported   in   learning   and   teaching  environments.
