Penile Cancer Presenting With Acute Urinary Retantion: Case Report

Öz

Penile cancer is a rare malignancy in our country. Phimosis, poor hygiene and smoking are major risk factors for penile cancer. Penile cancer in men have a strong correlation with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Penile cancer is rare in circumcised men, particularly if they are circumcised as newborns. Penile cancer is usually asymptomatic and physical examination is essential for diagnosis. We report a case of penile cancer whose first symptom was acute urinary retention (AUR) and review of the literature.

Öz

Penis kanseri, ülkemizde nadir görülen bir malignitedir. Fimozis, kötü hijyen ve sigara major risk faktörleridir. Penil kanserli hastaların human papilloma virüs (HPV) enfeksiyonu ile güçlü bir korelasyonu vardır. Özellikle yenidoğan döneminde sünnet olan erkeklerde penis kanseri nadir görülmektedir. Genellikle asemptomatik olmakla birlikte tanıda fizik muayene önemlidir. Vaka sunumumuzda, ilk başvuru şikayeti akut üriner retansiyon (AUR) olan penis kanseri olgusunu literatür eşliğinde sunmaya çalıştık.
