Öz

It is beyond doubt that many people contributed to the Turkification and Islamization of the Balkans, a geography that is equally as important as Anatolia and Central Asia for the Turkish history. However, the name of Sari Saltuk Gazi comes to the forefront regarding his mission for this purpose. Reminding a Turkmen Gazi’s, Sari Saltuk, advent to the Balkans with social, cultural and scientific activities as well as elaborating his masterpiece, i.e. Saltuk-nâme which includes his life experiences, for our cultural history through new articles and researches is highly significant.
