The aim of this study is to determine the learning styles of secondary school 5th and 6th grade students and examine which learning style the methods they use while studying are closer to. The study group consists of 5 and 6th graders from 2 private and 6 state schools in the centre of Tokat province in the 2013-2014 academic year. For the data collection of this survey model study “Learning Style Scale” and “Studying Method Questionnaire” which was prepared by the researchers were used. It was determined that participant students mainly had visual learning style and had the mixed style at the least. While studying students chose methods that are appropriate to the visual style at the most and the tactile learning style at the least. It was also found out that students preferred group work more than individual work.
