Early Intervention in Acute Gastric Dilation Saves Life

Öz

Acute gastric dilatation is a pathology that can be quite mortal with hypotonicity and excessive pressing in the stomach in case of delayed diagnosis and intervention despite there is no mechanical obstruction. In the presence of perforation, emergency surgery decreases mortality. A 14-year-old girl admitted with abdominal pain, bloating, and vomiting. On physical examination, general condition was moderate, abdominal distended, and sensitivity with palpation was present in all quadrants. Abdominal x-ray showed a dilated stomach image. nasogastric tube was performed for gastric decompression. Clinical improvement was observed in the follow-up and the patient was discharged with complete well-being. Acute gastric dilatation is a very rare and mortal pathology. Therefore, early diagnosis is important. In non-perforation cases, gastric decompression is very useful.

Akut Gastrik Dilatasyonda Erken Müdahale Hayat Kurtarır

Akut gastrik dilatasyon, mekanik obstrüksiyon olmamasına rağmen midede hipotonisite ve aşırı gerilme ile seyreden tanı ve müdehalede geç kalınması halinde oldukça mortal seyredebilen bir patolojidir. Perforasyon varlığında acil cerrahi girişim mortaliteyi azaltır. 14 yaşında kız hasta iftar yaptıktan sonra meydana gelen karın ağrısı, şişkinlik, kusma şikayetleri ile başvurdu. Fizik muayenede genel durum orta, batın distandü, tüm kadranlarda palpasyonla hassasiyet mevcuttu. Çekilen ayakta direk batın grafisinde dilate mide imajı görüldü. Hastaya nazogastrik takılarak mide dekompresyonu yapıldı. Takiplerinde klinik iyileşme gözlenen hasta tam iyilik hali ile taburcu edildi. Akut gastrik dilatasyon çok nadir görülen ve mortal olabilen bir patolojidir. Bu nedenle erken tanı önemlidir. Perforasyon olmayan vakalarda gastrik dekompresyon oldukça faydalıdır.
