Öz

Araştırmada, üniversite öğrencilerinin serbest
zamanlarında rekreatif etkinliklere katılımlarını engelleyen faktörlerin
belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada bilimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden nicel
araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada Gürbüz ve ark (2012) tarafından
geliştirilen “Boş Zaman Engelleri” ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçek soruları 4’lü
Likert tipte 18 sorudan oluşmakta ve 6 alt boyutu bulunmaktadır. Araştırmada
ölçek sorularının dışında kişisel bilgileri analiz edebilmek için 7 adet
demografik soru bulunmaktadır. Araştırma grubu, Ankara Üniversitesi’nde çeşitli
fakültelerde eğitim gören toplam 538 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Normallik
dağılımı sonucunda yapılan T-testi analizlerine göre, cinsiyet değişkeni ve
birey psikolojisi alt boyutunda anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmiştir. Fakülte
değişkenine bakıldığında ise, tesis ve zaman alt boyutlarında anlamlı farklar
tespit edilmiştir. Sınıf değişkenine bakıldığında, tesis alt boyutunda anlamlı
fark görülürken, gelir düzeyi değişkeninde ise zaman alt boyutunda anlamlı fark
tespit edilmiştir. Spor ilgilenme düzeyi değişkenine göre yapılan One Way Anova
analizlerine göre ise, birey psikolojisi, tesis ve ilgi eksikliği alt boyutlarında
anlamlı farklar tespit edilmiştir. Anlamlı farkların hangi gruplardan
kaynaklandığı ise, yapılan Post-hoc testleri ile araştırma sonuçlarına dâhil
edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına bakıldığında kadınlarda birey psikolojisinin
serbest zaman engellerinde önemli bir faktör olduğu, fakülte açısından
bakıldığında ise, spor bilimleri fakültesinde okuyan öğrencilerin tesis
yetersizliğinden, hukuk fakültesinde okuyan veya gelir düzeyi yüksek olan
öğrencilerin ise zaman yönetimi konusunda engellerle karşılaştıkları
görülmektedir. Spor ilgilenim düzeyine bakıldığında ise birey psikolojisinin,
tesis yetersizliğinin ve ilgi eksikliğinin öğrencilerde serbest zaman engelleri
yarattığı tespit edilmiştir.
