Öz

İnsanların sürekli olarak yeterli, sağlıklı, güvenilir ve besleyici gıdalara fiziksel ve ekonomik olarak erişebilmeleri, aktif ve sağlıklı bir yaşam sürdürebilmeleri için önemlidir. Bu nedenle gıda güvenliği ve güvencesi, besin ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak amacıyla kritik bir rol oynamaktadır. Gıda güvencesi, bulunabilirlik, ulaşılabilirlik, kullanılabilirlik ve sürekli bir şekilde sağlanabilme gibi farklı boyutları içermektedir.

Bu çalışmada gıda güvenliği ekonomik büyüme ve enflasyon arasındaki ilişki nedensellik yaklaşımı ile incelenmiştir. Ampirik analizler D-8 ülkeleri için gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın veri seti yıllık frekanslı olup 1987-2021 dönemini kapsamaktadır. Emirmahmutoğlu & Köse (2011) panel nedensellik testinin kullanıldığı çalışmada; kurulan modelin yatay kesit bağımlılığına sahip olduğu ve heterojen yapıda olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre ekonomik büyümeden gıda güvenliğine doğru tek yönlü nedensellik görülmüştür. Gıda güvenliği ve enflasyon arasında nedensellik ilişkisi elde edilememiştir.

EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP OF ECONOMIC GROWTH, INFLATION AND FOOD SECURITY WITH PANEL CAUSATION APPROACH FOR D-8 COUNTRIES

Öz

It is important for people to have physical and economic access to consistently sufficient, healthy, safe and nutritious food to lead active and healthy lives. Food safety and security therefore play a critical role in meeting nutritional needs. Food security includes different dimensions such as availability, accessibility, accessibility, availability and continuous provision.

In this study, the relationship between food security, economic growth and inflation is analyzed using a causality approach. Empirical analyses are conducted for D-8 countries. The data set of the study has annual frequency and covers the period 1987-2021. Emirmahmutoğlu & Köse (2011) used panel causality test and concluded that the model has horizontal cross-section dependence and is heterogeneous. According to the results obtained, unidirectional causality is observed from economic growth to food security.
