Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisinin Çok Boyutlu Panel Veri Modelleri ile Analizi

Öz

Son dönemde çevre
kirliliği ile iktisadi büyüme arasındaki ilişkinin varlığının ve niteliğinin
analizi birçok çalışmaya konu olmaktadır. Söz konusu yaklaşım çeşitli ülke ya
da ülke grupları için farklı ekonometrik modeller ve yöntemler yardımıyla
analiz edilmiş ve sonuçların çeşitlilik gösterdiği görülmüştür. Bu çalışmada,
Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisinin çok daha detaylı ve kapsayıcı bir şekilde analiz
edilebilmesi için panel veri setine ülke ve zaman boyutunun yanı sıra ülkelerin
gelir grupları da bir boyut olarak eklenmiş ve üç boyutlu panel veri modelleri
ile çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, ülke ve gelir grupları etkisinin
varlığını gösterdiğinden ilave olarak gelir gruplarına göre ayrılmış veri seti
ile iki boyutlu bir analiz de gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçlar alt ve üst gelir
gruplarında Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisinin geçerli olduğunu fakat farklı
çalıştığını; orta gelir grubu ülkelerde ise geçerli olmadığını
göstermektedir.
