N2  - From Qushayri (d. 465/1072) and Hujweri (490/1096) to Attar (d. 62211225) and Jami (d. 898/1494) all introduce Junayd in language very similar to what Waliy Allah has said. In what follows we shall discuss the basic principles of the sufi tariqah which were formulated by Junayd. We shall next discuss some of the speculative ideas that Junayd has suggested. His, probably, the first attempt to go beyond the description of mystical experience and suggest concepts that would explain and justify that experience. These concepts once preferred have remained an integral part of the sufi theosophy.
