AB  - ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to determine the relationshipand mutual effects between online gambling addictionand loneliness in young adults studying at a publicuniversity in Türkiye.Material and MethodThis study was designed in a cross-sectional style andprepared with the information collected by the surveyapplication method. The study population was madeup of young adults studying at a public university inTürkiye. The data were obtained in December 2021using an in-person data collection method with twoquestionnaire forms containing demographic data,Online Gambling Addiction Scale (OGAS) and Socialand Emotional Loneliness Scale for Adults (SELSA-S).ResultsThere were a total of 449 university studentsparticipated in the study. Of them, 52.8% werefemales. Those who were addicted to online gamblingconstituted 35.0% of the group, and those who wereaddicted to young adults gambling had significantlyhigher loneliness than those who were not (p=0.005).ConclusionIn young adults, loneliness has been shown to have apredictive effect on online gambling addiction.

N2  - AmaçBu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'de bir devlet üniversitesindeöğrenim gören genç erişkinlerde çevrimiçi kumarbağımlılığı ile yalnızlık arasındaki ilişkinin ve karşılıklıetkilerinin belirlenmesidir.Gereç ve YöntemBu çalışma kesitsel tipte tasarlanmış ve anket uygulamayöntemiyle toplanan bilgilerle hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmaevrenini Türkiye'de bir devlet üniversitesindeöğrenim gören genç yetişkinler oluşturmaktadır. VerilerAralık 2021'de demografik verileri içeren iki anketformu, Çevrimiçi Kumar Bağımlılığı (OGAS) ve Yetişkinlerİçin Sosyal ve Duygusal Yalnızlık (SELSA-S) ölçekleriile yüz yüze veri toplama yöntemi kullanılarakelde edilmiştir.BulgularAraştırmaya toplam 449 üniversite öğrencisi katılmıştır.Bunların %52,8'i kadındı. Çevrimiçi kumar bağımlısıolanlar grubun %35,0'ini oluşturuyordu ve kumarbağımlısı genç yetişkinlerin yalnızlığı, bağımlı olmayanlaragöre anlamlı olarak daha yüksekti (p=0.005).SonuçGenç yetişkinlerde yalnızlığın çevrimiçi kumar bağımlılığıüzerinde yordayıcı bir etkiye sahip olduğu gösterilmiştir.
