AB  - : Paradental kistler; dişlerin servikal vedistal yüzeylerinde embriyolojik dönemdenkalan epitel artıklarından gelişen kistlerdenbiridir. Bu olgu sunumumuzda otuz yaşındakikadın hasta mandibular üçüncü molar dişinindistalinden başlayarak mandibula ramusunakadar uzayan büyük radyolüsent lezyon içindış merkezden fakültemize yönlendirilmiştir.Hasta gerekli klinik ve radyolojikdeğerlendirmeden sonra paradental kist öntanısı ile Ağız, Diş ve Çene Cerrahisi AnabilimDalı’na yönlendirilmiştir. Lezyon kaynağı olandişin çekimi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca kist oldukçabüyük bir hacme sahip olduğundandekompresyon tedavisine başlanmıştır.Tedavisi yapılmayan perikoronal enfeksiyonludişlerden paradental kist gelişebileceği ve bukistlerinde osteomyelite sebep olabileceğiunutulmamalı, tanı ve tedavisinde dikkatlidavranılmalıdır.

N2  - Paradental cyst is one of thecysts which develop from the epithelialresidues remaining from the embriyologicperiod on the cervical and distal surfaces of theteeth. In this case report, a thirty-year-oldfemale patient was referred from an externalcenter to our faculty owing to a largeradiolucent lesion locating from the distal ofthe mandibular third molar tooth to the ramusof the mandible. After the clinical andradiological examination, the patient wasreferred to the Department of Oral andMaxillofacial Surgery with a pre-diagnosis ofparadentalcyst. The tooth associated with thelesion was extracted. Furthermore since thecyst has a large volume, decompressiontreatment was started. It should be kept inmind that paradental cysts may develop fromuntreated pericoronal infected teeth and thesecysts may cause osteomyelitis. Therefore thediagnosis and the treatment should beconsidered carefully.
