KW - Biyolojik besleme KW - emzirme KW - emzirme eğitimi N2 - The initiation and continuity of breastfeeding in the earliest postnatal period, exclusive breastfeeding during the first 6 months of life, and continued breastfeeding with complementary feeding up to at least the first year are recommended by international authorities. This study was designed as a randomized controlled experimental trial to determine the impact of providing biological breastfeeding education to expectant mothers on their breastfeeding self-efficacy and breastfeeding success. To achieve this goal, 153 pregnant women attending the antenatal clinic of a hospital in Istanbul between July and December 2023 will be included in the research. The participants will be randomly allocated into three groups (Group 1: biological breastfeeding, Group 2: conventional breastfeeding, Group 3: control), with each group consisting of 51 pregnant women. Group 1 will receive biological breastfeeding education, Group 2 will receive conventional breastfeeding education, and Group 3 will receive routine care. The outcomes of the educational intervention will be assessed and interpreted based on breastfeeding self-efficacy (Prenatal Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale) and breastfeeding success (LATCH Breastfeeding Assessment Tool). It is anticipated that biological breastfeeding may prove to be effective and serve as a means to increase breastfeeding rates. Consequently, promoting the growth of healthy individuals will have a positive impact on public health and serve as a tool for reducing healthcare expenses. Furthermore, this project will contribute to expanding the limited literature on biological breastfeeding, generating evidence, and fostering the development of expert scientists in this field.
