However, it is not easy to achieve because of certain factors. These factors are defined as "barriers" in the literature. Every adult may have encountered some of these barriers to some extent in their life. Types of these barriers or the level of effect may show differences. This study is a theoretical research that aims to present these barriers in the light of related literature. In other words, the current research discusses the obstacles to lifelong learning identified in the literature. It provides an overview of the factors preventing adults from participating in lifelong learning activities.
