KW - Cerrahi KW - Kozmetik Cerrahi KW - Üniversite KW - Öğrenci N2 - The demand for cosmetic surgery is increasing rapidly worldwide. Today, as a result of the influence of the media, individuals' thoughts about body image and therefore their acceptance of cosmetic surgery can be affected. The aim of this study is to determine the acceptance status of cosmetic surgery among university students and the factors affecting it. This descriptive study was completed with 326 students who were studying at a foundation university at undergraduate or associate degree level between September 2022 and January 2023, who agreed to participate in the study and completed the questionnaire form completely. Data were collected online using the Personal Characteristics Form and Cosmetic Surgery Acceptance Scale. The mean age of the students was 20.89±4.51 years. The mean Cosmetic Surgery Acceptance Scale score of the students was 54.917±20.363. The mean scores of the sub-dimensions of the scale were as follows: Personal Dimension 21,666±8,143, Social Dimension 13,163±7,794 and Thoughts Dimension 20,089±8,130. This study showed that university students' use of social media, time spent on social media, following aesthetic surgeons on social media, frequency of using filters on social media, monthly budget amount allocated to cosmetic materials and the desire to have aesthetic surgery increased the acceptance levels of cosmetic surgery.
