Subsequently, monoazo dyes were synthesized using conventional diazotization method, with 2-indanone or 1,3-indandione compounds as preferred coupling components. The chemical structures of the monoazo dyes have been characterized using several spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-APT NMR).
