AB  - Hükümranlığı 1830’dan 1848 yılına kadar süren Fransa kralı Louis-Philippe döneminde Doğu temalı birçok opera, tiyatro ve bale sahnelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada Fransız kültür hayatında önemli bir yeri olan sahne sanatlarının, Doğu’nun siyasi ve kültürel coğrafyasına karşı geliştirilen siyasi görüşü beslemede ne ölçüde kullanıldığı incelenecektir. Kral Louis-Philippe’in on sekiz yıllık hükümranlığı süresince Fransız sahne sanatlarında yaratılan Doğu imgesinde köleliğe, harem yaşantısına, kadınların günahkâr ve baştan çıkartıcı imajına, dine ve yozlaşmışlığa, vahşete, düşkünlüğe dair ön plana çıkarılan temalar üzerinden Fransa’nın Doğu dünyasına ilişkin politik ve kültürel yaklaşımı ortaya konmuştur. Tarihsel olayların ve Oryantalizmin eşlik ettiği temsillerin politik okumaları, Fransa lehine çeşitli propangandalar içermektedir. Louis-Philippe dönemi sahne sanatlarındaki sansür baskısının da yaratılan Doğu imgesindeki etkisi ortaya konulmuştur. Siyasi kontrol mekanizmasının işlediği bir ortamda hangi Doğu temalı temsillerin sahnelenmesine izin verildiği de tartışılacaktır. 1830-1848 yılları arasında söz konusu Doğu temalı opera, tiyatro ve bale temsillerinden yalnızca birincil kaynak metinlerine ulaşılabilenlere çalışmada yer verilmiş olup vurgulanan Doğu imgesi politik ve kültürel bağlamda ele alınmıştır.

N2  - During the reign of the French king Louis-Philippe, whose reign lasted from 1830 to 1848, many operas, theater and ballets with Eastern themes were staged. In this study, the extent to which the performing arts, which have an important place in French cultural life, were used to nurture the political view developed against the political and cultural geography of the East will be examined. Through the themes of slavery, harem life, the sinful and seductive image of women, religion and corruption, savagery, savagery and debauchery in the image of the East created in French performing arts during the eighteen-year reign of King Louis-Philippe, France's political and cultural approach to the Eastern world is revealed. The political readings of the representations accompanied by historical events and Orientalism contain various propaganda in favor of France. The effect of the censorship pressure in the performing arts of the Louis-Philippe period on the image of the East is also revealed. It will also be discussed which Eastern-themed performances were allowed to be staged in an environment where the political control mechanism was in operation. Only those opera, theater and ballet performances with Eastern themes between 1830-1848, for which primary source texts are available, are included in the study, and the image of the Orient emphasized is discussed in a political and cultural context.
