AB  - Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin saldırganlık eğilimlerinin fakülte, cinsiyet, ebeveyn tutumları, aile içinde fiziksel şiddete maruz kalma ve yaşam amacı değişkenleriyle incelenmesidir. Yöntem: Çalışma 958 üniversite öğrencisiyle, anket tekniği ve kesitsel ilişkisel yöntem kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Saldırganlık eğiliminin ölçülmesinde Buss-Perry Saldırganlık Ölçeği (BPSÖ) kullanılmıştır. Fakülte, cinsiyet, ebeveyn tutumları, aile içinde fiziksel şiddete maruz kalma ve yaşam amacı değişkenleri kişisel bilgi formuyla ölçülmüştür. Verilerin analizinde Mann-Whitney U Testi ve Kruskal-Wallis Testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Bulgular erkek öğrencilerin fiziksel saldırganlık, sözel saldırganlık ve düşmanlık boyutlarında kadın öğrencilere göre; spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinin ise tüm boyutlarda diğer öğrencilere göre saldırganlık eğilimlerinin daha fazla olduğuna işaret etmektedir. İlgi-siz/ihmalkar ebeveyn tutumlarının fiziksel saldırganlık ve düşmanlık eğilimleri üzerinde; koruyucu ebeveyn tutumunun ise öfke eğilimi üzerinde olumsuz role sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Aile içinde sık sık fiziksel şiddete maruz kalan öğrenciler tüm boyutlarda saldırganlık eğilimi en yüksek grupken, aile içinde hiçbir zaman fiziksel şiddete maruz kalmayan öğrenciler ise saldırganlık eğilimleri en düşük gruptur. Yaşamın amacını anlamlı bir hayat yaşamak olarak gören öğrencilerin tüm boyutlarda saldırganlık eğilimleri en düşük grup olduğu; zengin ve statü sahibi olma amaçlarını benimseyen öğrencilerin ise saldırganlık eğilimlerinin daha fazla olduğu görülmektedir. Sonuç: Sosyal çevrenin ve bireyin kendi psikolojik eğilimlerinin saldırganlık üzerinde birlikte rol oynadığı görülmektedir. Bulgulardan ve saldırganlık alanyazını çerçevesindeki tartışmadan hareketle bu güncel soruna yönelik çözüm önerileri sunulmaktadır.

N2  - Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the aggression tendencies among university students with the variables of faculty, gender, parental attitudes, exposure to physical violence in the family and life purpose. Method: The study was carried out on 958 university students by using survey technique and cross-sectional method. The Buss-Perry Aggression Scale (BPAQ) was used to measure the aggression tendencies. Variables of faculty, gender, parental attitudes, exposure to physical violence in the family & life purpose were measured by the personal information form. Data analysis was carried out with Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal-Wallis Test. Results: Findings indicate that male students had higher aggression tendencies than females in terms of physical aggression, verbal aggression and hostility & sports sciences’ students had higher tendencies then other students in all dimensions. Careless/negligent parental attitudes have negative role on the physical aggression & hostility tendencies and protective attitude has negative role on the anger tendency. Students who were frequently exposed to physical violence in the family had highest tendencies and students who have never been exposed to physical violence in the family had lowest tendencies in all aggression dimensions. Students who see their life purpose as living a meaningful life had the lowest tendencies and students who adopt being rich & having a status purposes had highest tendencies in all aggression dimensions. Conclusion: The social environment and the individual’s own psychological tendencies play a role on the aggression. Based on findings and the discussion within the literature on aggression, solution suggestions for this current problem are presented.
