KW - الطريقة الصوفية، KW - القبيلة، KW - البنية، KW - التشابه، KW - لاختلاف N2 - This research addresses the similarities and differences between the tribal structure and the Sufi order in the theoretical and practical dimensions. The introduction deals with the definition of structure in sociology in general, its elements, its role, and its transformations as a prelude to addressing our topic: A tribe and the Sufi order from a structural perspective. In the first section, the research focuses on the structure and essence of it in tribal and tariqi consciousness by analysing their perception of the concept of lineage and the tree of descent that is present in both structures. The section concludes with the pattern of relationships between the members and structures of the two structures, and therefore examines the hierarchies that were established and followed in the relationships that played a role in the perpetuation of the structure, comparing the hierarchy of status, control and leadership and the pattern of their distribution in both structures. In the second section, the research focuses on the tools and mechanisms relied upon by both; the tribe and the way to establish a symbolic dimension to the group's identity, which the group seeks to push its members to distinguish themselves from others in the environment. The first represents the circulation, creation, and appropriation of heritage from narrated history and real or imagined ancient historical events, which was handled by poetry in the tribe and Sufism with religious songs, with the presence of heroic narratives in both groups, but narrated orally in the tribe and written in the order. The second is through the embodiment of the community through a spatially defined asset, namely the Madhaffa and the zawiyah. It examined the impact of all this on the formation of identity, memory and collective imagination based on Benedict Anderson's concept of imagined communities. This research also traces the consecration of the nervousness necessary for the survival and continuity of the group, on the way to establishing a tradition that traces the tradition of the tribe, on which a nervousness is built under the tribe's blood bond. The third section of study dealt with the effectiveness of the structure (tribal and Tariqi), the nature of its tendency, and the forms of its movement, by focusing first on the tendency of expansion and spread. In addition, to comparing the limited number and location of the tribe versus the ability of the Tariqi to expand and spread, despite the fact that they both share the concept of migration, with its different meanings and implications between the two structures, as well as the concept of containment in the structure of both structures. As the Tariqi transcended and contained the tribes and penetrated the borders between them. This is followed by identifying the mechanism of renewal and its tools in both social spaces; the transformations in the structure and role of each of them as evidenced by the area of spread and friction with the city and urban centres, and their relationship with the authority in their local locations, or within the imperial sphere of the Ottoman Sultanate, and the stage of European occupation afterwards. Finally, the study is analysing the image of the other and their meanings in the two mentioned structures.
