Finansal gelişmenin, ekonomik büyümeyi destekleyerek gelir dağılımında denge sağlaması ve yoksulluğu azaltması beklenmektedir. Ancak, literatürde bu konuda çelişkili bulgular bulunmaktadır. Bazı teoriler, finansal sistemlerin kapsayıcılığı artırarak düşük gelirli bireylerin ekonomik fırsatlara erişimini kolaylaştırdığını öne sürerken, diğerleri finansal sistemlerin başlangıçta yalnızca varlıklı kesimlerin yararına işlediğini savunmaktadır. Çalışma, finansal gelişmenin erişim, derinlik, verimlilik ve istikrar gibi boyutlarının gelir eşitsizliği ve yoksulluk üzerindeki etkilerini ayrıntılı olarak incelemekte ve bu bağlamda politika yapıcılar için öneriler sunmaktadır. Finansal sistemlerin daha kapsayıcı hale getirilmesi ve sosyal eşitliği destekleyecek stratejilerin geliştirilmesi gerektiği vurgulanmaktadır.
