In order to provide the best protection, the simulation of the power system should be done in various analysis programs and the protection states should be determined according to possible fault conditions. In this study, the focus is on the coordination of overcurrent relays to ensure the safe and continuous energy flow in power systems. In order to quickly isolate the faulty area in the power system from the grid and to protect the power system to the maximum, a model was created in the ETAP software using non-directional overcurrent relays. Load flow analysis, short circuit analysis and relay coordination calculations were made. In order to minimize the relay operation times, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method was applied, thus providing a reliable and fast response time against fault scenarios. As a result of the study, it was seen that the PSO algorithm provided an effective result by reducing the total operation time in relay coordination by 22.93%.}, number={1}, publisher={Parantez Teknoloji}
