N2 - The importance of the poultry sector in meeting the need for protein of animal origin, which has an important place in the healthy and safe nutrition of people, is a well-known fact. The fact that feed inputs, which constitute 55-70% of total inputs, and additives used in the sector are both of foreign origin and the high inputs of these products have led to an increase in studies on the use of alternative feed additives. Phytogenic plants used as feed additives provide positive contributions to the health and productivity of animals thanks to the bioactive substances contained in them. At the same time, the rich endemic plant flora within the borders of our country and the suitable climate, soil and cultivable agricultural land in terms of climate, soil and cultivable agricultural land where medicinal and aromatic plants can be grown provide an important advantage in the production of phytogenic additives as feed additives and their use in animal nutrition. In this review, it is aimed to give information about the studies on the use of sesame, which has the potential to be an important alternative feed additive in poultry nutrition, in poultry nutrition.
