AB  - Bu çalışma Maurice Merleau-Ponty’nin Göz ve Tin adlı eserini fenomenoloji ve sanat felsefesi ekseninde ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. 20. yüzyıl felsefesinin etkili akımlarından biri olan fenomenoloji nesnelerden çok, o nesnelerin nasıl algılandığına odaklanan bir düşünce biçimi olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Edmund Husserl’in temellerini attığı bu yaklaşım, Merleau-Ponty’nin beden merkezli yorumuyla sanat ve algı ilişkisini yeniden düşünmeyi mümkün kılar. Göz ve Tin, yalnızca sanat üzerine bir metin değil; varlık, beden ve algı kavramlarını sanat üzerinden tartışan bir felsefi sorgulama metni olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Merleau-Ponty bu eserinde sanatçının yalnızca gözlemleyen değil, varoluşu deneyimleyen ve onu beden yoluyla yeniden kuran bir özne olduğunu savunur. Özellikle ressam Cézanne’ın görüşlerine sıkça yer veren filozof, görmenin yalnızca bir bakış değil, varlıkla tensel bir temas olduğunu ileri sürer. Çalışmada sanatın estetik bir temsil olmaktan öte, dünyayı açan bir varoluş biçimi olduğu düşüncesi ön plana çıkmaktadır. Literatürde Göz ve Tin üzerine yapılmış çalışmalar da bu yaklaşımı desteklemekte; eser, beden, bakış ve algı ekseninde sanat felsefesi ve görsel kültür alanlarında değerlendirilen önemli kaynaklardan biri olarak konumlanmaktadır.

N2  - This study aims to analyze Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s Eye and Mind within the framework of phenomenology and the philosophy of art. Phenomenology, one of the influential philosophical movements of the 20th century, emerged as an approach focusing on how objects are perceived rather than on the objects themselves. Established by Edmund Husserl, this perspective allows for a reconsideration of the relationship between art and perception through Merleau-Ponty’s body-centered interpretation. Eye and Mind is not merely a text about art but a philosophical inquiry that addresses the concepts of being, body, and perception through artistic expression. In this work, Merleau-Ponty argues that the artist is not solely an observer but a subject who experiences existence and reconstructs it through the body. Particularly emphasizing the views of the painter Cézanne, the philosopher suggests that seeing is not simply a gaze but a sensual engagement with being. The study highlights the idea that art functions not just as an aesthetic representation but as a mode of being that reveals the world. Existing literature on Eye and Mind also supports this approach, positioning the work as a significant resource in the fields of philosophy of art and visual culture, especially within discussions of body, gaze, and perception.
