N2 - This study introduces the “EcoFloat Village Türkiye” model, developed to create sustainable floating settlements in inland water basins across Türkiye in response to flood risks, rising sea levels, and spatial constraints in coastal areas. The model aims to support ecological tourism, rural development, and energy efficiency through modular and portable floating structures. Fifteen inland basins were identified and evaluated based on eight criteria—Ecological Compatibility, Water Quality, Climatic Suitability, Energy Potential, Accessibility, Tourism Potential, Legal Compliance, and Infrastructure—using the Delphi Method with input from experts at Eskişehir Technical University and Çukurova University. The Analytic Hierarchy Process was then applied to prioritize sites, identifying Lake Eğirdir, Almus Dam Lake, and Tercan Dam Lake as the most suitable. The model minimizes environmental impact through integrated renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, and compost-based waste systems, while enabling sustainable tourism and strengthening local economies through cooperative business models. Overall, EcoFloat Village offers a scalable and environmentally responsible solution for climate-resilient inland settlements. CR - Adnan, A. (2020).
