AB  - Makroekonomik göstergelerle yakından ilişkili olduğu düşünülen gelir dağılımı, iktisadın en tartışmalı konularından biri olarak görülmektedir. Çalışmanın temel amacı Türkiye’de gelir dağılımı ile enflasyon ve işsizlik oranları arasındaki bağın incelenmesidir. Bu amaçla, 1988-2023 yılları arasını kapsayan yıllık zaman serileri Fourier yaklaşımına dayanan birim kök ve eşbütünleşme testleriyle analiz edilmiştir. Değişkenlerin durağanlık durumları kesirli frekanslı Fourier Genişletilmiş Dickey-Fuller (Fourier ADF) Birim Kök Testi ile incelenmiş ve tümünün düzeyde birim köklü, birinci farkta durağan olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunun üzerine söz konusu değişkenler arasındaki uzun dönemli ilişkinin varlığını sınamak için kesirli frekanslı Fourier Otoregresif Dağıtılmış Gecikmeli (Fourier ADL) Eşbütünleşme Testi uygulanmıştır. Uzun dönemli katsayıların tahmin edilmesinde Tam Modifiye Edilmiş En Küçük Kareler Yöntemi’nden (FMOLS) yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, enflasyonun gelir eşitsizliğini artırdığını, artan eşitsizliğin ise işsizliği azalttığını göstermektedir. Bu sonuç, anti-enflasyonist para ve maliye politikalarının daha adil bir gelir dağılımına katkı sağladığını ortaya koymaktadır. Diğer taraftan, yeniden dağıtımcı politikalar, konjonktürel dalgalanmaları daha şiddetli hale getirmesi ve fiyat istikrarına destek vermemesi nedeniyle kullanışlı bir araç olarak görülmemektedir.

N2  - Income distribution, closely related to macroeconomic indicators, is one of the most controversial issues in economics. The main objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between income distribution and inflation and unemployment rates in Türkiye for the period 1988-2023. For this purpose, unit root and cointegration tests are used based on the Fourier approach. The stationarity of the variables is tested using the fractional frequency Fourier Augmented Dickey-Fuller Unit Root Test (Fourier ADF), and it is found that the variables are unit-rooted at the level but stationary at the first difference. Subsequently, the fractional frequency Fourier Autoregressive Distributed Lag (Fourier ADL) Cointegration Test is applied to examine the existence of a long-run relationship between these variables. The Fully Modified Least Squares Method (FMOLS) is used to estimate the long-run coefficients. The results suggest that rising inflation rates exacerbate income inequality while increasing inequality reduces unemployment. This result indicates that anti-inflationary monetary and fiscal policies contribute to a more equal income distribution. On the other hand, redistributive policies are not seen as a useful tool, as they exacerbate cyclical fluctuations and do not support price stability.
