The electrophoresis method recommended by Gelman was used in the study; however, due to insufficient results, various technical modifications were made. The waiting time for cellulose acetate strip preparation was reduced, the ratio of methanol to acetic acid was changed for strip cleaning, and the drying process was carried out at room temperature.
In tests performed with 13 normal serum samples, the isoenzyme ratios obtained differed from the values reported by Gelman. This difference was determined to be due specifically to the solution used for strip cleaning. Furthermore, LDH isoenzyme percentages from different sources were compared to highlight the impact of technical incompatibilities on the results. Consequently, these modifications shortened the application time, simplified the method, and yielded reliable results in LDH isoenzyme determination.}, number={5-6}, publisher={Ankara University}
