AB  - Bu araştırma, menopoz öncesi ve sonrası dönemi kapsayan orta yaş kadınlarında görülen psikolojik ve somatik semptomları incelemektedir. 35–55 yaş aralığındaki toplam 175 kadının dahil edildiği çalışmada, hasta grubu 105 psikiyatrik polikliniğe başvuran kadınlardan, kontrol grubu ise ruhsal sorun öyküsü bulunmayan 70 kişiden oluşturulmuştur. Görüşmeler, sosyo-demografik form, kısa psikiyatrik değerlendirme, baskı yaratan olaylar ve Beck Depresyon Ölçeği ile desteklenmiştir. Bulgulara göre her iki grupta benzer semptom çeşitliliği görülse de, hasta grubunda semptomların şiddeti ve yaşamsal stres düzeyi anlamlı ölçüde yüksektir. Depresyon oranı hasta grubunda %94, kontrol grubunda %71 olarak bulunmuş; hasta grubundaki depresyon düzeyi daha şiddetlidir. Araştırma, orta yaşın kadının yaşamında psikososyal geçiş dönemi olduğunu ve bu süreçte yaşanan streslerin ruhsal sağlık açısından belirleyici rol oynadığını ortaya koymaktadır.

N2  - This study explores psychological and somatic symptoms experienced by women in middle age, encompassing the pre- and post-menopausal periods. A total of 175 women aged 35–55 were included, with 105 patients recruited from a psychiatric clinic and 70 control subjects with no history of mental health intervention. Interviews were conducted using socio-demographic questionnaires, a brief psychiatric rating scale, life stress assessment, and the Beck Depression Inventory. Results indicate similar symptom variety in both groups, but significantly higher symptom severity and life stress among the patient group. Depression was identified in 94% of the patient group and 71% of the control group, with more intense depressive symptoms observed in the former. The findings highlight middle age as a psychosocial transition period for women, during which life stressors play a critical role in mental health outcomes.
