AB  - Bu çalışmada, 1978–1981 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Genel Cerrahi Kliniğinde primer sütür yöntemiyle tedavi edilen 83 delinmiş duodenum ülseri olgusu incelenmiştir. Primer sütür uygulamasının kısa ve uzun vadeli sonuçları değerlendirilmiş; bu yöntemin yaşamsal durumlarda hızlı ve basit bir çözüm sunduğu, ancak ülser nüks oranlarının yüksek olduğu ve ülserin altta yatan nedenlerini ortadan kaldırma gücünün sınırlı olduğu vurgulanmıştır. Olguların büyük çoğunluğu erkek olup yaş ortalaması 41.4’tür. Mortalite oranı %12.04 olarak belirlenmiştir. Kontrol edilen vakalarda şikayetlerin devam oranı %32.14 iken, %25’i ikinci ameliyata ihtiyaç duymuştur. Yalnızca %42.85’i tamamen şikayetsiz bulunmuştur.

N2  - This study analyzes 83 cases of perforated duodenal ulcers treated with the primary suturing method at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery between 1978 and 1981. The short- and long-term outcomes of this surgical technique were assessed. While primary suturing offers a lifesaving, quick solution in critical situations, the method is limited in addressing the underlying causes of ulcers and is associated with a high recurrence rate. Most patients were male, with a mean age of 41.4. The mortality rate was found to be 12.04%. Among follow-up cases, 32.14% reported recurring complaints, and 25% underwent a second surgery, whereas 42.85% were found to be completely symptom-free.
