AB  - Bu çalışmada, Ağrı İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü personelinin duygusal zeka seviyeleri ile motivasyon düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubunu basit tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 350 emniyet çalışanı oluşturmaktadır. Tarama modeli esas alınan bu çalışmanın nicel verilerini toplamak için anket formu kullanılmıştır. Geçerliliği ve güvenilirliği ispatlanmış olan Wong ve Law (2002) tarafından geliştirilen dört boyutlu “Duygusal Zeka Ölçeği” ve Mottaz (1985) tarafından geliştirilen iki boyutlu “Motivasyon Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Ankete beş sorudan oluşan kişisel bilgi formu eklenmiştir. Yüz yüze anket yöntemi ile elde edilen nicel veriler betimsel ve çıkarımsal istatistiki yöntemlerle analiz edilmiştir. Analizler için SPSS paket programı kullanılmıştır. Emniyet personelinin duygusal zeka seviyesinin motivasyonu etkilediğine ulaşılmıştır. Bu ilişkinin duygusal zekanın boyutları ile motivasyonun boyutları arasında da olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ulaşılan bulgular literatürdeki sonuçları desteklemiştir. Ulaşılan bulgular ışığında; emniyet personeline ve alanda çalışma yapacak olan araştırmacılara önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

N2  - In this study, it is aimed to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence levels and motivation levels of Ağrı Provincial Police Department personnel. The study group consists of 350 security personnel determined by simple random sampling method. A questionnaire form was used to collect the quantitative data of this study based on the survey model. The four-dimensional ‘Emotional Intelligence Scale’ developed by Wong and Law (2002) and the two-dimensional ‘Motivation Scale’ developed by Mottaz (1985) were used. A personal information form consisting of five questions was added to the scales. The quantitative data obtained by face-to-face survey method were analysed by descriptive and inferential statistical methods. SPSS package programme was used for the analyses. It was found that the level of emotional intelligence of police personnel affects motivation. This relationship was also found to exist between the dimensions of emotional intelligence and the dimensions of motivation. The findings supported the results in the literature. Based on the findings, recommendations were made to security personnel and researchers working in the field.
