AB  - Bu çalışma, uzun süreli etkili bir protoveratrin olan PvA-R'nin (depo protoveratrin) hipertansiyon tedavisindeki etkinliğini değerlendirmektedir. Toplam 51 hasta (36 poliklinik ve 15 hastane hastası) ile yapılan tedavinin sonuçları sunulmaktadır. Hastaların 5'inde kronik hipertansif nefrit, 46'sında ise esansiyel hipertansiyon bulunmaktaydı. Tedavi öncesinde hastalar 15 günlük bir gözlem sürecine alındı. Tedavide başlangıçta hastaların bireysel etkili dozları belirlendi ve bu dozlar her 6 saatte bir tekrarlandı. Poliklinik hastaları için günde üç kez birer tablet ile tedaviye başlandı ve gerektiğinde doz artırıldı.Sonuçlar, PvA-R'nin sistolik basınç üzerinde diyastolik basınca göre daha etkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Esansiyel hipertansiyon vakalarının %73'ünde sistolik basınçta önemli bir düşüş görülürken, bu oran diyastolik basınç için %54'tür. Hem sistolik hem de diyastolik basınçta düşüş ise vakaların sadece %27'sinde elde edilmiştir. Yan etkiler genellikle hafifti ve 5 hastada bulantı ve kusma gibi gastrointestinal şikayetler, bir hastada ise göğüste sıkışma hissi görüldü. Bir vakada ilacın kesilmesi gerekti. Çalışma, uzun etkili depo protoveratrinin hipertansiyon tedavisinde etkili ve değerli bir ilaç olduğunu belirtmektedir.

N2  - This study evaluates the effectiveness of a long-acting protoveratrine, PvA-R (depot protoveratrine), in the treatment of hypertension. The results of a trial involving 51 patients (36 outpatient and 15 hospital patients) are presented. Five patients had chronic hypertensive nephritis, while 46 had essential hypertension. Before treatment, patients underwent a 15-day observation period. The individually effective dose was determined for each patient and administered every 6 hours. Outpatients were initially started on one tablet three times a day, with the dosage increased as needed.The results showed that PvA-R was more effective on systolic blood pressure than on diastolic pressure. A significant reduction in systolic pressure was observed in 73% of essential hypertension cases, compared to 54% for diastolic pressure. A decrease in both systolic and diastolic pressure was achieved in only 27% of cases. Side effects were generally mild, with 5 patients experiencing gastrointestinal complaints like nausea and vomiting, and one patient reporting a feeling of chest tightness, which led to discontinuation of the medication. The study concludes that the long-acting depot protoveratrine is an effective and valuable drug for the treatment of hypertension.
