N2  - A significant portion of foreign Kurdologists are Christian priests and missionaries. Thomas Bois is one of these Kurdologists. Bois lived in the Middle East as a priest and orientalist and carried out missionary activities. Bois, who has extensive studies on the Kurds, is also the author of the book "Kurds", which provides extensive information about the Kurds, consisting of 11 chapters, which he states were written to introduce the Kurdish people. Although this book was initially published in French under the title Connaissance des Kurdes, we evaluated its English translation under the title "The Kurds" in terms of content, importance and academic reliability. As a result, it was seen that the title and content of the book were consistent, and although it was written with sympathy for the Kurds, the source, reference and ethnographic studies were a reliable source with the Participant Observation design. It also opens the door to academic studies with its criticisms of Kurdish novels, the reasons for the decline in the use of Kurdish, and its findings on Kurdish folkloric elements.
