Kierkegaard’ın fenomenolojiyi öncelediğine dair yabancı literatürde son yıllarda yürütülmekte olan kapsamlı tartışmayı Türkçe literatüre tanıtmak amacıyla onun Ölüme Götüren Hastalık ile Kırdaki Zambak ve Gökteki Kuş adlı eserlerinin fenomenolojik bir yorumunu gerçekleştirdiğimiz bu çalışma Kierkegaard’ı hem Heidegger’in fenomenolojisine hem de buradan hareketle Fransa’da teolojik dönüş olarak adlandırılan yeni fenomenoloji akımına yaklaştırmanın mümkün olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Kierkegaard’ın sessizlikte bireyin kendi söylemini askıya alarak Tanrı’dan gelen çağrıya açık hale geldiği iddiası bir yandan özneyi konuşmanın sağladığı imtiyazlı konumundan uzaklaştırırken, diğer yanda da Batı felsefesinin görüş merkezli düşünme biçimini duymaya yönelik bir kavrayışa doğru yönlendirir. Bu bağlamda Kierkegaard’ın sessizlik kavramı hem Heidegger’in vicdanın çağrısına ilişkin betimlemeleri ile çeşitli benzerliklere sahiptir hem de yeni fenomenolojinin, Husserl’e -bilinci deneyimin kurucu merkezi olarak konumlandırmasından dolayı- getirdiği eleştirinin zemininde yer alan düşüncelerin bir öncülü olarak okunabilir. Zira sessizlik, öznenin ademi merkezileştiği ve Husserlci yönelimselliğin tersine çevrildiği bir ufuk olarak, ben’liğin başkasından gelen çağrıya maruz kalışını ve anlamın özneye öncel kaynaklarını vurgular. Bununla birlikte umutsuzluğun benliğin değil fakat ben-olmamanın yarattığı bir fenomen olarak kavranması, kendiliğin ancak başkalıktan hareketle kurulduğunu ortaya koyarak öznenin edilgen boyutunu açığa çıkarır ve fenomenolojinin imkânlarını genişleten teolojik dönüş için verimli bir alan açar. Böylece dini deneyimin fenomenolojik olarak ele alınabileceğini iddia eden yeni fenomenoloji açısından Kierkegaard’ın varoluşçuluğu bir proto-fenomenoloji olarak okunabilir. Bu çalışmanın hedefi, varoluşçuluğun olduğu kadar fenomenolojinin de ufkunu genişleten alternatif bir okuma yaparak Kierkegaard’ı yeniden yorumlamaktır. KW - Kierkegaard KW - Heidegger KW - Proto-Fenomenoloji KW - Yeni Fenomenoloji KW - Sessizlik KW - Umutsuzluk N2 - This study argues that Søren Kierkegaard, often regarded as the father of existentialism, can be interpreted from a phenomenological perspective, and that his descriptions of silence and despair can be classified as proto-phenomenological reductions. In order to introduce to Turkish literature the recent and extensive debate in foreign literature on Kierkegaard’s anticipation of phenomenology, this study offers a phenomenological interpretation of his works The Sickness Unto Death and The Lily of the Field and the Bird of the Air. and attempts to demonstrate the possibility of bringing Kierkegaard closer to both Heidegger’s phenomenology and, from this perspective, to the new phenomenological movement in France known as the theological turn. Kierkegaard’s claim that the individual becomes open to the call coming from God by suspending his own discourse in silence both distances the subject from the privileged position granted by speech and redirects Western philosophy’s vision-centered mode of thinking toward a receptive understanding of hearing. In this context, Kierkegaard’s notion of silence not only bears significant similarities to Heidegger’s descriptions of the call of conscience but can also be read as a precursor to the ideas that underlie the new phenomenology’s critique of Husserl, who positioned consciousness as the constitutive center of experience. For silence emerges as a horizon in which the subject is de-centered and Husserlian intentionality is reversed, thereby emphasizing the subject’s exposure to the call that comes from the Other and the sources of meaning that precede the subject. At the same time, the understanding of despair not as the phenomenon of the self but of non-self reveals that selfhood is constituted only through otherness, bringing to light the passive dimension of subjectivity and opening a fertile ground for the theological turn that expands the possibilities of phenomenology. Thus, when viewed from the perspective of the new phenomenology, which asserts that religious experience can be approached phenomenologically, Kierkegaard’s existentialism can be read as a proto-phenomenology. The aim of this study is to offer an alternative interpretation that broadens the horizon not only of existentialism but also of phenomenology by re-reading Kierkegaard.
