Türkiye'deki turba kaynakları arasında Çankırı, Kars, Ardahan, Acıpayam, Van vb. yer almakta olup, kapasiteleri ve özellikleri de belirtilmektedir. Türkiye'de 500.000 hektarlık toplam sebze alanı için gübre yerine yaklaşık 7.500.000 ton turba kullanılması gerektiği hesaplanmıştır.

N2  - A detailed description is made in this article about the nature of peat and its ii essential le importance and usage in horticultural farming and in greenhouses as a nutrition and as an improving material of soil structure and texture. Peat sources in Turkey are also mentioned such as Çankırı, Kars, Ardahan, Acıpayam, Van etc. with their capacities and the characteristics. For 500.000 ha’s of whole vegetable area in Turkey it has been approximately calculated that 7.500.000 tons of peat should be used instead of manure.
