Toprak sterilizasyonu, bitkiler ve özellikle saksılarda, sıcak yataklarda ve seralarda yetiştirilen meyve, sebze ve çiçekler üzerinde yapılan deneyler, denemeler ve testler için gereklidir. Ayrıca, uzmanlık alanı sebze yetiştirmek olan yetiştiriciler için de oldukça kârlı olabilir. Yalova Bahçecilik Araştırma Enstitüsü'nde yerel olarak temin edilebilen malzemelerle düşük maliyetli bir toprak sterilizatörü inşa edilmiştir. Sterilizatörün yapımına ilişkin tüm talimatlar aşağıda verilmiştir: Gerekli malzemeler ve fiyatları Türk lirası cinsinden; gerekli aletler: sterilizatörün genel açıklaması; yapım özellikleri. Toprak sterilizatörünün çalıştırılması ve kompost formülleri için talimatlar da verilmiştir.

N2  - By killing nematodes, pests, weed seeds and other harmful organisms, soil sterilization gives plants the opportunity of growing in a medium free of disease and pests. Soil sterilization is necessary for experiments, trials and tests performed on plants and in particular on fruit plants, vegetables and flowers grown in pots, hot beds and greenhouses. It can also be very profitable for the grower whose specialization is to grow vegetables. A low-cost soil sterilizer was built at Yalova Horticultural Research Institute with materials locally available. Complete instructions to build the sterilizer are given: Materials required with prices in Turkish liras; tools required: general description of the sterilizer; specification for the construction.Instructions for operating the soil sterilizer, and compost formulas, are also given.
