It involved a non-random sampling technique (purposive) of 150 nurses who worked in five neonatal units in these hospitals. A panel of 14 experts viewed the research tool to ensure that the results of the study are valid. The reliability was aggressed by a pilot study that was conducted between 6 and 9/ July/ 2025 and a co-efficiency score (internal consistency) was applied to test Cronbach’s Alpha, which gave a score of 0.815. The data was analyzed with the SPSS version 25.Result: The findings revealed that total nurses’ knowledge level was 39.3 (59) of the total sample at acceptable level with chi-square (82.133) and high significant p.value (0.000), that the total nurses’ skills level was 40.0% (60) of the total sample at good level with chi-square (68.733) and high significant p.value = 0.000. non-significant relationship between most of the sample characteristics demographic on their total nurses’ knowledge as well as total nurses skills level results was non-significant, except total nurses’ knowledge level there was significant association relationship with gender at p.value (0.036) also with current unit working duration at p.value (0.031) only. total nurses’ skills level with educational level at p.value (0.002) also with duration of general service years at p.value (0.017) onlyConclusion: The total knowledge level of the nurses was the most of nurses at acceptable level, the total level of skills of the nurses at good level. The correlational relationship between most of the sample characteristics demographic in addition their level total for knowledge and skills of role nurses was not significant, except that nurse’s total level for knowledge had significant correlational relationship with gender but only with current unit working duration only. total nurses’ skills level had significant correlational relationship with educational level but only with general service years. Bu hastanelerdeki beş yenidoğan ünitesinde çalışan 150 hemşireden oluşan, rastgele olmayan (amaçlı) bir örnekleme tekniği kullanılmıştır. 14 uzmandan oluşan bir panel, araştırmanın sonuçlarının geçerliliğini sağlamak için araştırma aracını incelemiştir. Örneklem özelliklerinin çoğunun demografik özellikleriyle hemşirelerin toplam bilgi düzeyleri ve hemşirelerin toplam beceri düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki anlamlı bulunmamıştır. Ancak, hemşirelerin toplam bilgi düzeyleri dışında, cinsiyetle p.değeri (0,036) ve mevcut birim çalışma süresiyle p.değeri (0,031) anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Hemşirelerin toplam beceri düzeyleri ile eğitim düzeyleri arasında p.değeri (0,002) ve genel hizmet yılı süreleri arasında p.değeri (0,017) anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur.Sonuç: Hemşirelerin toplam bilgi düzeyleri çoğunlukla kabul edilebilir düzeyde, hemşirelerin toplam beceri düzeyleri ise iyi düzeydedir. Örneklem özelliklerinin çoğunun demografik özellikleriyle hemşirelerin rollerine ilişkin bilgi ve beceri düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki anlamlı bulunmamıştır.
