Akciğer kanserli hastalar tedavi ve semptomların fazlalığı nedeniyle bakım veren bireylere ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar.Amaç: Akciğer kanseri olan hastaların yaşadıkları semptomların bakım veren yüküne etkisinin incelenmesi.Yöntem: Kesitsel tipteki araştırma, Ocak-Ekim 2022 tarihleri arasında Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Hastanesi Gündüz Tedavi Merkezi’nde tedavi alan akciğer kanserli hasta ve hasta yakınları ile yürütülmüştür. Verilerin toplanmasında Sosyo-demografik Özellikler Formu, Karnofsky Performans Durum Ölçeği, Akciğer Kanseri Semptom Skalası, Nightingale Semptom Değerlendirme Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ortalama, standart sapma ve yüzdeleri alınan veriler korelasyon, bağımsız gruplarda t testi, Mann Whitney U testi ve Krusskal Wallis testleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir.Bulgular: Çalışmaya alınan hastaların %76.3’ünün erkek, %83.3’ünün evli olduğu, %82.5’inin sigara kullanmayı bıraktığı, bakım verenlerin %71.9’unun kadın, %82.5’inin evli, %52.6’nın hasta eşi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Hastaların karnofsky performans puan ortalamalarının 77.02±10.96, Akciğer Kanseri Semptom Skalası toplam puan ortalamalarının 40.96±13.96, N-SDÖ Fiziksel Semptomlar puan ortalamalarının 23.14±11.68, N-SDÖ Sosyal Semptomlar puan ortalamalarının 9.21±6.08 ve N-SDÖ Psikolojik Semptomlar puan ortalamalarının 18.12±8.66 olduğu tespit edilmiştir.Sonuç: Onkoloji hemşirelerinin hastaların yaşadıkları semptomları tanılaması, hasta ve bakım veren bireylerin eğitim gereksinimlerini belirlemesi ve bu doğrultuda planlama yapması hasta yakınlarının semptom yüklerini belirlemeye yardımcı olacaktır.
