There was congenital posteromedial angulation of the tibia in one case. In the second one we observed tarsal and metatarsal hypoplasia. In the last one there were no complaints due to the pathologic formation of the ankle joint in our cases. We summarized the data about such cases and tried to explain the nature and the etiopathogenesis of ball and socket joint deformity. Ball and socket joint deformity of the ankle joint is not rare. It s overlooked commonly because it doesn t produce serious problems for the patients.
