B. Combined operations together with soft tissue procedure and osteotomies. One of these in the second group operations is Keller’s resection arthroplasty first used in 1904. 151 feet of 84 patients with hallux valgus deformity were treated by Keller’s resection arthroplasty between the 1981 and 1990 in the orthopaedic department of Gülhane Military Medical Academy. A verage follow-up period was 13 months. 52 patients out of 84 cases were women while the other 32 were men. (A verage age was 63), 17 cases unilateral’y were operated. Our cases were evaluated both clinically and radiologically in the pre-op and post-op period. Patients older than 50 years old with moderate and severe hallux valgus deformity, who are treated by other tecniques are compared with our results. As a conclusion, this tecnique procedure provides a radical treatment and early mobilization of the patients 50 that it reduces the complication risks related to the older age,}, number={1}, publisher={Turkish Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology}
